Reggae Girlz head coach Hubert Busby Jr. dedicated Tuesday's 4-1 win by the Reggae Girlz against Trinidad and Tobago to people affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Jamaica defeated Trinidad in an international friendly at the Ato Boldon Stadium with two goals from Jody Brown, and one each by Natasha Thomas and debutant Tianna Harris.

Busby spoke about the impact of Hurricane Melissa on the island and sent his best regards to those affected.

"First and foremost, I want to take this opportunity to let the people back home in Jamaica know our thoughts and prayers are with them. Stay safe and stay strong," he said.

"This game is really about, and we spoke about it before, making sure we can go out there at the end of this game and give something, to not just submit to the Jamaicans on the island, but Jamaicans worldwide, who are going through a lot right now.

"Credit to the players who, and all of us really, who are impacted by what's going on at home."

The Reggae Girlz coach said the players gave their best on the field, despite their concerns for friends and families back home.

Brown scored the first goal in the match at the 11th minute, but Trinidad and Tobago were quick to respond through Nikita Gosine, two minutes later.

Thomas restored Jamaica's lead in the 52nd minute, before Harris made it 3-1 in the 67th minute.

With six minutes left to player, Brown sealed her brace, and the win.

Busby said there is much to improve on ahead of their opening game in the Concacaf W Qualifiers next month.

"I thought we were a little bit wasteful in front of goal to be honest. We always talk about how goals change games, and I think early on we should have put some of those chances away," he said.

"We wanted to be able to keep the ball a bit more, and I think, at times, we were a little bit sloppy with some of our passes, especially building out of the back."

However, he was pleased with the team's response in the second half, where they scored three unanswered goals.

"With that said, they responded really well, made a couple adjustments at halftime, spoke about things we needed to improve on, and then credit to the players who went out there and executed accordingly."

The team's next assignment will be the W Qualifiers, where they are drawn in Group B alongside Guyana, Nicaragua, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda.

"I've said to the players to stay healthy, continue to push themselves in their environments, whether it be in school or their professional clubs. Then, in a couple weeks, we'll reconvene again and get ready to play Dominica."
