Jediimusiq, Tuff Like Iron collaborate on ‘IDK’
US-based Jamaican label Jediimusiq previews its forthcoming sophomore album, ' The Jama-piano', with the release of the song ' IDK', which was recorded by reggae fusion female artiste Tuff Like Iron.
IDK was released on September 22 and, according to producer Realjedii, the project is a fusion between dancehall and South African music genre, amapiano.
" IDK is the first single off my upcoming album The Jama-piano, which is a blend of amapiano and dancehall vibe concept to the rhythm. We added some artistes who bring the Caribbean and dancehall flavour to the project," said Realjedii, who also shared that the full rhythm project will be released in a few weeks.
"The collaboration with Tuff Like Iron came about after I came across her work. I then reached out to her, and the rest was history," said Realjedii.
Also featured on The Jama-piano project are a mix of established and emerging acts, which include Lutan Fyah, Perfect Giddimani, Teflon Young King and Tall Genna.
"Working with Tuff on this track was super creative, to say the least! She's quick and has such great ideas which made for an easy flow," said Realjedii. Tuff Like Iron was also complimentary about working with the producer on the song.
"Jediimusiq's riddim was the spark. I wanted to blend dancehall vibes with this funky amapiano beat to create something fun, flirty, and infectious. IDK turned out bright, bubbly, and perfect for the dancefloor," she said.
Tuff Like Iron continued, "Working with Jediimusiq was a good vibe. I loved the beat and knew I had to bring the heat with flow and lyrics that matched the energy. It all came together seamlessly, and I'm loving how IDK turned out."
