Elderly man struck dead on North Coast Highway

The life of a 67-year-old Trelawny wood carver was cut short Monday night when he was hit by a motor car while crossing the North Coast Highway in Trelawny.

Dead is Patrick Jackson of Salt Marsh in the parish.

Reports from the Falmouth police are that about 10:50 p.m., Jackson was crossing the roadway when he was hit by a Toyota Voxy motor car that was heading towards Falmouth.

He received several injuries.

The police were alerted, and upon their arrival, Jackson was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation continues.
