'Porridge Man' gunned down at popular breakfast spot
The morning routine of residents in Old Harbour was shattered after the community's beloved "Porridge Man" was gunned down while selling breakfast to customers, leaving stunned patrons and neighbours struggling to come to terms with the brazen attack.
The killing has plunged the Panton Lane community in St Catherine into mourning as residents remembered the vendor, who was affectionately known as "Porridge Man."
According to reports, about 9:30 a.m., the vendor was at his usual location serving a variety of porridge to passers-by and residents when loud explosions rang out.
When the gunfire subsided, he was found suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.
The injured man was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators have not yet established a motive for the killing.
The Old Harbour Criminal Investigation Branch is probing the incident.
